Tampa, FL – Severe weather threatens Florida’s northern Nature Coast, with damaging winds, large hail, and possible tornadoes Sunday into Monday. A slight risk covers the region, while much of west-central and southwest Florida face a marginal risk.

According to the National Weather Service, storms will develop Sunday afternoon and continue into early Monday. The strongest storms will likely occur in three phases: early Sunday afternoon, Sunday evening, and overnight into Monday morning. Wind gusts ahead of the front could create hazardous marine conditions and a high rip current risk.

Officials urge residents to prepare for severe weather and monitor updates. Boaters should exercise caution due to rough waters. The storm system could bring heavy rain, leading to localized flooding.
