Nashville, TN – Middle Tennessee is under a Flood Watch through Sunday as heavy rain continues to drench the region, bringing 2 to 4 inches of rainfall with localized areas receiving up to 5 to 7 inches. The National Weather Service warns of flash flooding, rising creeks, and road closures, especially in flood-prone areas near I-65 and I-40.

According to the National Weather Service, storms will persist into Sunday morning, with winds gusting up to 30 mph. Flooded roads could make travel hazardous, particularly around Nashville, Murfreesboro, and ClarksvilleOfficials advise avoiding low-lying areas and not driving through flooded roadways.

As the rain clears late Sunday, a sharp temperature drop will follow. By Monday (Washington’s Birthday), temperatures will struggle to reach 40°F, with north winds making it feel even colder. Next week, an Arctic blast will grip the Midwest and South, sending wind chills into the single digits.

Residents should stay updated on road conditions, prepare for colder temperatures, and have an emergency kit ready for potential flooding. For the latest alerts, visit weather.gov.
