Seattle, WA – Coastal flooding and steady rain are expected to impact the Seattle area through Sunday morning, prompting safety concerns for residents in low-lying regions. A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Sunday, with tidal overflow predicted during high tide.

According to the National Weather Service, high tide at 6 a.m. Sunday could cause water levels to rise by 2 feet above normal along shorelines and flood-prone areas. Residents in Seattle, Tacoma, and the Hood Canal Area should avoid driving through flooded roads and take precautions to protect homes and property. Minor flooding could disrupt traffic near parks, parking lots, and coastal roads.

Heading into Monday, showers will continue, with temperatures reaching 47°F during the day and dipping to 39°F overnight. Rain is expected to intensify Sunday night into Monday morning, with a 90% chance of precipitation. Drivers are advised to allow extra time for commutes, as standing water on roadways could create hazardous conditions.

Tuesday brings continued rain, with a high of 49°F and occasional gusts of wind. Rainfall totals may add up significantly by midweek, making drainage a concern for neighborhoods near rivers and streams. Tuesday night’s precipitation carries an 80% chance, with overnight lows near 45°F.

By Wednesday, showers will persist, though temperatures will climb to a weekly high of 52°F. Residents should stay informed of potential flooding risks and keep an eye on road closures.

For those living in flood-prone zones, officials recommend securing valuables, clearing gutters, and keeping emergency supplies on hand. Always avoid driving through standing water.
