Julian, CA – A magnitude 2.7 earthquake struck just 1 km west-northwest of Julian early Wednesday morning. The earthquake, with a depth of 14.5 kilometers, was felt by residents across San Diego County.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the quake occurred at 12:06 a.m. local time. While classified as a minor event, people in nearby areas, including Julian and parts of San Diego, reported feeling light tremors.

Residents are encouraged to submit their experiences through the USGS “Did You Feel It?” report. This citizen-contributed data helps scientists understand the earthquake’s reach and local impact. So far, eight responses have been recorded, though more are expected as the day progresses.
