Sacramento, Calif. – Sacramento residents may want to keep umbrellas handy as light rain could move in Friday night, bringing a slight chill to weekend plans.

According to the National Weather Service, there’s a 20% chance of showers beginning late Friday with temperatures dropping to the mid-40s overnight. The chance of rain continues into early Saturday, paired with partly cloudy skies and a high near 65°F. Winds will remain light but variable through the period, shifting from the south at 5 to 9 mph.

While major rainfall isn’t expected, outdoor events and travel could see minor disruptions, especially Friday night. Local roads could become slick if showers develop, so drivers should use caution.

Thursday will remain dry but breezy, with gusts reaching 21 mph. The brief rain window marks the only interruption in an otherwise sunny pattern, as Sacramento heads back into the low 80s by Monday.

Showers are expected to clear by Saturday night, with no additional precipitation in the extended forecast. The next weather update will come if rain chances increase or winds strengthen.
