Sacramento, CA – Frosty weather continues across Sacramento as temperatures dip near freezing overnight, impacting early morning commutes Thursday. Areas along I-5 and local streets could see slippery conditions from frost before the sun clears it by mid-morning.

According to the National Weather Service, widespread frost is expected after midnight, with lows around 36 degrees and calm winds. Drivers should plan for extra travel time Thursday morning and take precautions on bridges and overpasses where frost often forms.

Thursday will bring sunny skies and warmer afternoon highs near 63 degrees. However, another chilly night is forecast, with temperatures dropping to 39 degrees and increasing cloud cover.

Looking ahead, the five-day forecast shows sunny days continuing through Friday, with a high of 62. Friday night will stay mostly clear, with temperatures near 40. Saturday brings a slight chance of showers—about 20%—but most of the day will remain dry, with highs around 59.

Frosty mornings will persist into Sunday and Monday, with nighttime lows dipping into the mid-30s. Daytime highs will hover around 59 degrees, providing sunny, pleasant afternoons for outdoor activities.

Residents are advised to protect sensitive plants from frost and dress in layers to stay warm during colder mornings. Stay updated with local weather alerts to prepare for any changes.
