Raleigh, NC – The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Frost Advisory for central North Carolina, where temperatures are expected to fall into the mid-30s early Sunday morning, leading to potential frost formation across the region.
The advisory will be in effect from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. EST Sunday, Nov. 2, and includes a wide area from Winston-Salem to Raleigh, Durham, Fayetteville, and Goldsboro, spanning counties such as Wake, Guilford, Alamance, Johnston, Cumberland, and Moore.
According to forecasters, frost could harm or kill sensitive vegetation if left uncovered, particularly in rural and low-lying areas. Residents are encouraged to bring potted plants indoors or cover outdoor vegetation ahead of the overnight chill.
The NWS noted that frost will be less likely in the urban Triangle and Triad, where slightly warmer city temperatures may prevent full frost formation. However, surrounding suburban and agricultural areas could see heavier frost accumulation.
Sunday will bring sunny skies with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s, followed by another chilly night early next week.
