Rain Showers and Gusty Winds Expected in Missouri Thursday Morning

Springfield, MO – Missouri is preparing for a mix of mild winds and isolated rain showers as a cold front moves through the state. According to the National Weather Service Springfield, the rain chances will peak at 20-40% on Thursday morning, with isolated, non-severe thunderstorms possible.

The cold front is expected to bring gusty southwest winds in the range of 25-35 mph, particularly during the early morning. The highest chances for rain will be concentrated in central Missouri and areas further east, with some rainfall amounts up to a tenth of an inch possible.

Residents are advised to keep an umbrella handy and stay informed of any weather changes that could affect the morning commute. Although severe weather is unlikely, brief, light showers are expected to persist until the afternoon.
