Morehead City, NC – Coastal North Carolina residents should prepare for a rainy start to the week as light showers move into the area Monday morning. Temperatures will peak near 47 degrees during the day, with overnight lows in the upper 30s.

The National Weather Service forecasts a 40% chance of rain, with the heaviest showers expected before 10 a.m. Drivers should remain cautious during the morning commute, as wet roads and reduced visibility could create hazardous conditions. Rainfall totals are expected to be light, with less than a tenth of an inch.

After the rain clears Monday evening, the region will enjoy a stretch of sunny weather. Tuesday will bring highs near 56 degrees with breezy conditions and gusts up to 20 mph. The warming trend continues into midweek, with Wednesday and Saturday reaching highs of 61 degrees under clear skies.

Mornings will remain brisk, with lows dipping into the 30s throughout the week. Residents are advised to layer up for cooler starts and take advantage of the milder afternoons later in the week.
