Grand Forks, ND – A warm and sunny day will give way to increasing clouds tonight, as the region braces for showers and possible thunderstorms. A 40% chance of precipitation is expected to develop late, mainly after midnight, with lows dropping to around 50°F. Residents should prepare for breezy conditions and the possibility of isolated storms.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, the chance for showers will rise to 60% by Tuesday, with thunderstorms possible throughout the day. Winds will pick up significantly, with gusts reaching up to 31 mph in the afternoon, making outdoor activities difficult. Tuesday will also be much cooler, with highs near 58°F and breezy conditions continuing throughout the day.

Drivers should take extra caution as the winds could make travel challenging, especially on open highways. Showers and thunderstorms may bring periods of heavy rain, although new rainfall amounts are expected to be less than a tenth of an inch, except in areas impacted by thunderstorms.

The weather is expected to clear up by Wednesday, with cooler temperatures persisting. Sunny skies will return, but highs will remain near 53°F. Residents are encouraged to monitor weather updates and plan accordingly for the changing conditions, particularly if they have outdoor plans for Tuesday.
