Quad Cities, IA/IL – Above-normal temperatures and mostly dry conditions will continue this week, but a chance for light showers is expected late tonight into Tuesday morning. Rain will develop after 4 a.m. Tuesday and taper off by early afternoon. While rain is possible area-wide, totals are expected to be light, with most locations receiving less than 0.25 inches.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, this rain is unlikely to provide drought relief but will be the first rainfall many areas have seen since October 4th. Despite the morning rain, Tuesday afternoon will bring a mix of clouds and sun, with highs reaching between 72°F and 80°F.

Temperatures will remain warm through Wednesday before gradually cooling, with highs dropping to the low 60s on Wednesday and the mid-60s by Thursday. A few more passing clouds are expected later in the week, but dry conditions should prevail. Residents are advised to be aware of the early morning rain tomorrow, though severe weather is not anticipated.
