Quad Cities Forecast: Thunderstorms Possible Today, Then Dry and Hot Through Monday

Davenport, Iowa – Storms may briefly roll through the Quad Cities this afternoon, but residents should prepare for a sharp warm-up heading into next week.

According to the National Weather Service, there’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, followed by another chance after 4 p.m. Patchy morning fog cleared by 7 a.m., and daytime highs will reach 72°F under mostly sunny skies. Thunderstorm chances remain low, with only a 20% chance of rain.

Tonight, expect a calm evening with temperatures dipping to 52°F. Showers may pop up again between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., but skies should clear overnight as northwest winds pick up, gusting up to 25 mph.

Friday through Monday looks dry and increasingly hot. Highs rise from the low 80s on Friday to 90°F by Monday. Sunshine dominates the weekend, with Saturday and Sunday both clear and warm, peaking at 85°F and 86°F respectively. Winds will stay light, making outdoor events and travel conditions favorable.

Looking ahead, rain chances return by Tuesday, but for now, Quad Cities residents should expect clear skies and building heat through early next week. Check back for updated rain chances by Monday evening.
