Davenport, Iowa – Late August is serving up an unusual stretch of cool, comfortable weather in the Quad Cities, with below-normal temperatures holding steady through at least Tuesday. Daytime highs will climb only into the upper 60s and low 70s, while overnight lows dip into the mid-40s—levels more typical of mid-September.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, Sunday through Tuesday will feature mostly sunny days with a mix of clouds, but no significant rain is expected. Sunday brings highs near 70 with nighttime readings falling into the upper 40s, while Monday looks similar with highs in the mid-70s and lows between 45 and 50 degrees. By Tuesday, the region should see slightly warmer highs in the low 70s, though crisp nights will remain in the upper 40s.

The cooler pattern offers a break from the late-summer heat, but residents should plan for jacket-worthy evenings and early mornings, especially for outdoor activities, commuting, or sending children to school.

This stretch of mild, dry weather is expected to last into midweek, with warmer temperatures not returning until later in the week.
