Residents in Iowa and Illinois can expect lingering fog and drizzle to clear by mid-morning, creating safer and drier conditions across the region today. Following this damp start, the weather is expected to improve, setting up a mostly sunny and warmer weekend for the Quad Cities area. Highs will reach the upper 50s to near 60 degrees on Saturday, with temperatures hovering in a similar range through Sunday, providing residents with a much-needed break from recent cool and wet conditions.
According to the National Weather Service, fog and mist have kept visibility low across the Quad Cities, especially around Moline and Davenport. Motorists should use caution on major routes, including Interstate 74 and I-80, until the fog clears later this morning. Northwest winds of 10 to 15 mph are expected, with gusts as high as 20 mph, gradually calming by the afternoon.
Friday’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high near 55 degrees, while Saturday brings mostly sunny conditions and a high of 59. Sunday will remain mostly cloudy, with a 20–30% chance of light showers but no significant rain expected. Temperatures could reach 62 on Sunday, making it the warmest day of the week.
Looking ahead to early next week, there’s a higher chance of showers, especially on Monday afternoon, with temperatures continuing to hover in the upper 50s. Stay updated on weather conditions through local alerts to prepare for any changes as the weekend progresses.
