Colorado – Gray clouds hang low over Pueblo early this morning as temperatures sit near 33°F, giving southern Colorado a crisp start before bright sunshine quickly takes over. Roads across Pueblo County remain dry, but the chilly air reminds drivers that early March can still bring quick temperature swings.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, skies clear quickly through late morning with sunshine pushing temperatures toward 56°F this afternoon. Light southwest winds between 5 and 10 mph will keep conditions comfortable for travel along Interstate 25 and U.S. 50.

The bigger shift arrives as a strong burst of early spring warmth spreads across southern Colorado. Sunshine dominates Sunday, allowing temperatures to climb to 69°F by afternoon. Nighttime readings still drop into the mid-30s, which means brief slick spots could appear on shaded bridges if any moisture develops.

Clocks also jump forward early Sunday morning as Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. Residents lose one hour of sleep but gain longer evening daylight. That extra sunshine pairs perfectly with the warming pattern developing next week.

By Monday, Pueblo reaches 75°F, one of the warmest days so far this year. Bright skies and steady west winds around 10 to 15 mph will keep conditions dry across the Arkansas River Valley and along I-25.

Tuesday stays mild with highs again near 75°F, though clouds begin increasing late in the day. By midweek, temperatures ease slightly to around 58°F with partly sunny skies returning across southern Colorado.

Long-range outlooks show continued above-normal temperatures heading deeper into March, signaling the first real stretch of springlike weather for the region.

Heading out today or traveling along I-25 this week? Let us know what conditions look like where you are.
