Gaylord, MI – Northern Michigan residents can look forward to mostly clear skies on Saturday before rain moves into the region late Sunday night, setting the stage for a wet Veterans Day on Monday. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the dry conditions Saturday to complete any outdoor tasks or travel plans before showers potentially disrupt plans on Sunday night.

According to the National Weather Service, Gaylord will experience temperatures in the low 50s on Saturday with mostly sunny skies. Winds will remain light, shifting from northwest to south in the afternoon, providing ideal conditions for outdoor activities. However, clouds will increase by Saturday night, signaling a change in weather.

The approaching system will bring a 50% chance of showers early Sunday morning, with precipitation expected to increase throughout the day and reach 100% probability by Sunday night. Temperatures on Sunday will peak around 53°F, while southeast winds may pick up slightly, adding a brisk feel to the evening hours. The rainfall is forecasted to continue into Veterans Day, where there is a 70% likelihood of showers, potentially impacting local ceremonies or outdoor events.

Looking ahead, Gaylord can expect mostly cloudy skies Monday night, with cooler temperatures dipping to around 31°F. The rain is anticipated to clear by Tuesday, offering a partly sunny day with a high near 47°F. Temperatures will hover in the mid to upper 40s through mid-week, accompanied by occasional clouds.

Motorists should exercise caution as roads may become slick during periods of rain, particularly on main routes such as M-32 and I-75 through Gaylord.
