PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Western Pennsylvania will bask in warm sunshine this weekend as high pressure keeps skies clear and rain chances low. Afternoon highs today will reach the upper 80s in most communities, with Pittsburgh expected to top out near 89 degrees.
According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, overnight temperatures will fall into the low to mid-60s under mostly clear skies, offering comfortable sleeping conditions despite the daytime warmth. Sunday will bring the peak of this mini heat wave, with highs climbing to 90 degrees in Pittsburgh and into the low 90s in parts of Ohio and West Virginia.
The dry air and steady sunshine will make for ideal outdoor plans, but health officials advise residents to stay hydrated and limit strenuous activity during peak afternoon heat. Roads, trails, and parks are expected to be busy through Sunday evening, and UV levels will remain high.
No major weather hazards are expected until early next week, when a slight chance of showers could return by Monday night.
