Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has issued an Air Quality Alert for the Liberty and Clairton areas on Sunday, October 20. A code ORANGE alert indicates unhealthy pollution levels for sensitive groups, including children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions.

According to officials, areas including Clairton, Glassport, Lincoln, Liberty, and Port Vue are expected to experience elevated air pollution concentrations, particularly affecting individuals with asthma or heart and lung diseases.

Residents are advised to limit outdoor activities and avoid strenuous exercise, especially sensitive groups. The alert is expected to last through Sunday as air quality monitors track elevated levels of fine particles and ground-level ozone.
