Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – Scattered thunderstorms could slow traffic and soak parts of southeastern Pennsylvania starting Friday afternoon, with a wet, stormy pattern holding through early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, isolated showers may begin as early as 7 a.m. Friday, with a stronger round of storms expected after 2 p.m. Highs will climb to 87°F, making it feel unusually warm for early May. The storms may bring gusty winds, brief downpours, and lightning—especially along heavily traveled corridors like I-76 and I-95 during the evening commute.

Friday night brings continued storm chances until 5 a.m. Saturday, when another wave of rain and thunderstorms may develop by early afternoon. Showers and storms are likely both Saturday afternoon and night, with temperatures dipping to a low around 60°F.

Sunday remains unsettled, with another round of rain and potential storms, followed by a mild but wet Monday. Commuters should stay alert for slick roads and intermittent downpours. Power outages are possible with stronger cells, so residents are urged to charge devices and secure loose outdoor items.
