Peoria, IL – Residents in Peoria now have a faster and more convenient way to file non-emergency police reports, thanks to the Peoria Police Department’s launch of its new Desk Officer Reporting System (DORS), available online 24/7.

According to the department, the Citizens’ Online Reporting System allows community members to electronically submit police reports for specific incidents that do not require an officer to respond in person. Police leaders say the system is designed to boost accessibility for residents while allowing officers to stay focused on higher-priority calls.

“This system provides a fast, secure, and efficient way for our community to document incidents while helping officers dedicate more time to urgent calls that impact public safety,” Chief Eric Echevarria said in the announcement.

Residents are still urged to call 9-1-1 for emergencies or crimes in progress. If a report involves a known suspect or evidence that requires collection, Peoria Police advise calling the Non-Emergency Dispatch line at (309) 673-4521.

DORS supports reporting for several categories, including assault, battery (with no injury), burglary from a motor vehicle, criminal damage, deceptive practices, identity theft, lost property, retail theft, theft of services, and unlawful use of credit or debit cards. Supplemental reports may also be added to existing cases.

For those wishing to share crime information anonymously, tips can still be submitted through Crime Stoppers and tip411.

Residents can access the DORS system through the City of Peoria website. After navigating to City Departments and selecting the Police Department, users will find the File a Police Report Online option along the left-hand menu.
