Allentown, Pa. – Locally strong wind gusts may disrupt parts of eastern Pennsylvania late Tuesday night as a line of storms pushes in from the west.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, there is a marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk for severe weather across the Lehigh Valley and northwest Berks County, primarily between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. Wednesday. While the highest risk for severe thunderstorms remains west of the region, isolated strong storms could still sweep through the area late this evening.

Residents in Allentown, Reading, and the surrounding areas should prepare for brief but potentially damaging wind gusts. Drivers are urged to use caution during the overnight hours, especially on exposed roads like Route 222 and I-78. Loose outdoor items should be secured, and power outages are possible in areas that experience stronger bursts.

This system marks one of the first organized severe weather threats of the season for eastern Pennsylvania. Though widespread impacts are unlikely, the risk for sudden strong winds makes staying alert essential.

Additional weather statements may be issued tonight if storm intensity increases. Residents should monitor local alerts and avoid travel during the storm window if possible.
