Pittsburgh, PA – A burst of spring warmth on Monday will give way to an unsettled pattern as rain and snow return by Tuesday night.

Residents in southwestern Pennsylvania should prepare for changing conditions with a rain-snow mix expected after 2 a.m. Tuesday night. Gusty winds Monday will give way to calmer conditions, but colder temperatures and light precipitation could make roads slick—especially during the early Wednesday commute.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will reach a high near 54°F with mostly sunny skies before clouds increase in the evening. Rain showers may begin before 2 a.m., then mix with snow through the night. Low temperatures will dip to around 33°F, with a 30% chance of precipitation. No significant accumulation is expected, but caution is advised for morning drivers, particularly along I-376 and surrounding routes.

Wednesday remains chilly with highs near 46°F and a continued 30% chance of snow showers in the morning. While major accumulation isn’t anticipated, commuters should remain alert to isolated slick spots.

Looking ahead, temperatures rebound slightly:

  • Thursday: Mostly sunny, high of 54°F
  • Friday: Showers likely, high of 60°F
  • Saturday: More rain likely, high of 71°F
  • Sunday: Showers and breezy, high of 75°F

Spring is here, but this week brings a typical seasonal mix. Stay weather-aware and plan travel carefully, especially late Tuesday through Wednesday morning.
