Pittsburgh, PA – A significant cold front is pushing through Pennsylvania tonight, bringing low temperatures well below average for early April. The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh reports that most of the state will experience temperatures dipping into the 20s, with Pittsburgh expecting a low of 21°F by early morning.

The chill is expected to impact areas from the northern parts of the state all the way down to Morgantown, West Virginia, where lows will reach 23°F. Other cities, such as Latrobe, Indiana, and New Castle, will also see similar low temperatures, with the western region of Pennsylvania experiencing temperatures around 25°F to 28°F.

Though the growing season hasn’t yet begun, the National Weather Service advises residents with plants outdoors to bring them inside or provide cover to avoid potential damage. No official frost or freeze warnings have been issued at this time.

Temperatures are expected to rise in the coming days, but tonight’s drop marks the last cold snap for the region, according to meteorologists.
