State College, PA – Bitter cold temperatures continue to grip central Pennsylvania, with snow showers expected Thursday before a warming trend moves in this weekend. Wind chills could drop below zero, making conditions dangerous for prolonged outdoor exposure.
According to the National Weather Service, snow showers are likely Thursday, mainly before 1 p.m., with gusty northwest winds up to 25 mph. Highs will struggle to reach 23°F. Thursday night remains cold, with a low of 16°F.
Friday brings sunshine, but highs will only reach 29°F, with wind gusts up to 29 mph. However, relief is in sight—Saturday will see a high of 36°F, and by Sunday, temperatures may rise to 37°F with partly sunny skies.
The arctic front moves out early next week, bringing milder air and possible rain showers Monday and Tuesday. Residents should bundle up for the next couple of days but prepare for a taste of early spring by the weekend.
