Philadelphia, PA – A stretch of summer-like heat will blanket the region Wednesday, with high temperatures climbing into the upper 80s across much of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and eastern Maryland—potentially marking the hottest day of the year so far.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, overnight lows will stay mild in the mid-50s to near 60°F, before soaring under mostly sunny skies. Humidity will increase, especially in urban areas like Philadelphia and Wilmington, though not yet reaching oppressive levels. Daytime highs are forecast to hit 88°F in Philadelphia, 87°F in Allentown, and 86°F in Dover.
Hazy skies and elevated UV levels are expected throughout the day. Officials recommend limiting prolonged outdoor exposure, staying hydrated, and checking on vulnerable populations. Travel and school operations remain unaffected, but residents are advised to monitor changing conditions late in the week.
Clouds will gradually build heading into Friday, with the highest chance for showers and scattered storms arriving Saturday. Temperatures will remain warm, but slightly cooler as rain chances increase.
