Pennsylvania Tornado Leaves 10-Mile Path of Destruction in Trafford

Trafford, PA – An EF-1 tornado struck Trafford in eastern Allegheny and western Westmoreland counties, leaving a 10-mile trail of damage on Wednesday. The tornado, confirmed by the National Weather Service Pittsburgh, packed peak winds of 110 mph and measured up to 300 yards in width.

According to the National Weather Service Pittsburgh, Wednesday’s tornado touched down at 7:57 p.m. and lasted until 8:11 p.m. The storm caused damage to trees and buildings, though no injuries or fatalities were reported.  This tornado was one of two confirmed in the area that evening, with another hitting North Fayette Township.

Residents reported extensive property damage, with uprooted trees and scattered debris visible throughout the affected area.
