Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – A burst of spring warmth and clear skies will greet Pittsburgh this Sunday, but the calm won’t last as another round of storms targets the city by Tuesday night. Residents should take advantage of the sunny weekend, with outdoor plans encouraged before clouds and rain move in during the workweek.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will see temperatures soar to 64°F with abundant sunshine. Expect similar conditions Monday, as highs reach 76°F and skies remain bright—ideal weather for yard work, travel, or simply enjoying the city’s parks. By Tuesday, however, Pittsburgh could reach 82°F before a strong system brings showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Tuesday night carries a 70% chance of heavy rain, which could impact drivers along I-376 and other major roadways through Allegheny County. Motorists should avoid unnecessary travel late Tuesday and keep flashlights and mobile devices charged, as isolated power outages are possible.

Monday night stays mostly clear with a low near 56°F, but the real spring disruption begins after sunset Tuesday, when thunderstorms may roll in. Showers linger into Wednesday morning, dropping temperatures back to the upper 60s by midweek.

Five-Day Extended Forecast:

Thursday: Showers likely, high near 78°F

Sunday: Sunny, high 64°F, low 41°F

Monday: Sunny, high 76°F, low 56°F

Tuesday: Partly sunny, high 82°F; showers likely after 2 p.m.

Wednesday: Showers taper, high 69°F, low 57°F
