Pittsburgh, PA – Snowfall across Pittsburgh and surrounding areas is expected to continue into midweek, bringing accumulation and potentially hazardous road conditions. Residents should prepare for additional snow showers and freezing temperatures starting Wednesday, with totals varying across the region.

According to the National Weather Service, southern Allegheny County received approximately 5 inches of snow Monday night, with higher elevations in Fayette and Westmoreland counties seeing totals of 7–8 inches. Additional snow showers are likely Wednesday afternoon and evening, with new accumulation of less than half an inch possible.

Drivers along I-79 and Route 19 should remain cautious as freezing temperatures create slick roadways. Wednesday’s high is expected to reach 25°F, with winds around 13 mph adding to the chill. The low Wednesday night will dip to 7°F, increasing the risk of ice forming overnight.

Looking ahead, the five-day forecast predicts light snow showers Thursday afternoon, followed by partly sunny skies Friday and Saturday. Highs will remain in the mid-20s to low 30s through the weekend, with lows ranging from 7°F to 21°F.

While conditions are expected to improve by Thursday, residents in Pittsburgh should remain vigilant about changing weather patterns. If traveling, allow extra time for your commute and monitor updates for road conditions and potential advisories.

Stay informed by checking the latest updates from the National Weather Service or local news sources. Prepare for colder temperatures by layering clothing, keeping emergency kits in your vehicles, and staying off roads during icy conditions whenever possible.
