State College, PA – The National Weather Service has issued a snow squall warning for several central Pennsylvania counties, including Centre, Clinton, Lycoming, Northumberland, and Union. The warning is in effect until 5:45 a.m. Thursday.
According to the NWS, intense snow bursts and wind gusts over 35 mph are reducing visibility to less than a quarter mile. Radar indicates the snow squall is moving east at 50 mph, impacting major highways such as I-80 (mile markers 143-216), I-99 (mile markers 76-85), and I-180 (mile markers 1-29).
Travelers are advised to avoid or delay travel if possible. Those on the road should exercise caution, as rapidly deteriorating conditions could lead to accidents.
