Philadelphia, PA – Strong winds and freezing temperatures will make Pennsylvania roads hazardous today, with icy patches and blowing snow reducing visibility. Motorists are urged to drive cautiously as conditions are expected to worsen during the morning hours.

According to the National Weather Service, northwest winds between 15-25 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph, will continue sweeping across the region. Temperatures will stay below freezing, with highs near 33°F and lows dipping into the teens. These conditions are creating icy roadways, particularly on major highways like I-95 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Wind chills will drop into the single digits by evening, making outdoor activities uncomfortable and potentially dangerous without proper precautions. Local residents are advised to limit time outdoors, bundle up in layers, and avoid unnecessary travel.

Looking ahead, Wednesday will bring mostly sunny skies, but temperatures will remain cold, with a high near 30°F and gusty winds continuing. Thursday and Friday are expected to be slightly warmer, reaching highs of 37°F under sunny skies. However, snow could return on Saturday, with a 30% chance of precipitation in the morning hours.

Officials recommend preparing for the potential return of slippery conditions this weekend by checking tire tread, keeping emergency kits in vehicles, and staying updated with weather alerts.
