Philadelphia, PA – Intermittent rain showers and overcast skies will blanket much of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland today, keeping roads slick and temperatures in the low 60s throughout the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, rain chances will hover above 75% for most major cities including Philadelphia, Trenton, and Wilmington between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday. Accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are expected south of Philadelphia through Friday evening, while areas to the north may see 0.5 to 1 inch. Flooding concerns remain minimal at this time.
Travelers along I-95 and I-76 should expect slower commutes as rain persists through the evening. School buses and delivery trucks in Camden and Dover could face minor ponding on untreated roads. Utility services are not expected to be impacted.
Residents should avoid unnecessary travel during heavier bursts and keep umbrellas and rain gear ready. Temperatures are likely to stay in the upper 50s to low 60s today—well below seasonal norms.
Rain is expected to taper off late Friday, though additional advisories may be issued if rainfall intensifies or shifts northward.
