Pittsburgh, PA – A Flood Watch remains in effect for parts of western Pennsylvania as the Monongahela River threatens to rise above flood stage by Sunday, potentially impacting Allegheny, Washington, Fayette, and Westmoreland counties.
According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, water levels near Charleroi and Elizabeth are rising and could exceed flood stage between Sunday afternoon and Monday evening. Current projections indicate the river near Charleroi could reach 28 feet, while the level near Elizabeth may hit 20 feet.
Residents in flood-prone areas are urged to stay alert and monitor weather updates. The National Weather Service advises taking precautions, as conditions may require evacuations or road closures in affected communities.
