Springfield, Missouri – Clouds will linger across the Ozarks today and into Thursday, with showers likely to develop by late morning Thursday and continue through the afternoon, potentially impacting travel and outdoor plans.

According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, rain chances increase to 60% on Thursday, particularly between noon and 7 p.m., with highs ranging from 67°F to 73°F. The heaviest rainfall is expected along and south of I-44, including cities like Branson, West Plains, and Mountain Grove.

Friday marks a transition to drier, warmer conditions across southern Missouri. Highs will climb to the mid-70s by Friday, and sunshine will dominate the weekend forecast. By Saturday and Sunday, most of the region will see highs between 80°F and 84°F, with clear skies stretching from Joplin to Rolla.

While Thursday’s showers may cause slick roads during the evening commute, no severe weather is expected. Residents are advised to keep umbrellas handy, limit outdoor plans Thursday, and stay informed via local updates.

The warming trend continues into next week, with no additional rain expected through at least Monday. More updates will follow if any weather advisories are issued.
