Bend, OR – A winter storm warning remains in effect for Central Oregon and the foothills of the Blue Mountains, with heavy snowfall expected through Friday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Pendleton, snow will accumulate between 3 and 6 inches in Central Oregon, including Bend, Redmond, Madras, and Prineville, with impacts lasting until 1 p.m. Friday. The Blue Mountain foothills, including Pendleton, Heppner, and Pilot Rock, are forecasted to receive 3 to 5 inches of snow through 4 p.m. Friday.

Hazardous driving conditions are anticipated, especially during the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes, due to reduced visibility and slick roads. Travelers are advised to delay trips if possible and carry a winter storm kit, including tire chains, blankets, and emergency supplies.

Officials urge caution, as the storm may cause localized power outages and travel disruptions. Stay updated with the latest forecasts and road conditions before heading out.
