Eugene, Oregon – High temperatures nearing 93°F will grip Eugene through the middle of next week as a prolonged stretch of sunny, dry weather continues to impact western Oregon.

According to the National Weather Service in Portland, daytime highs will reach the low 90s from Sunday through Tuesday, with overnight lows staying in the upper 50s. North winds will pick up during the day Sunday, with gusts as high as 18 mph expected into Sunday night, increasing fire danger and dehydration risks.

Saturday’s high will reach near 82°F before temperatures rise again Sunday and Monday. Light to moderate north winds—up to 10 mph—may make outdoor activities more difficult, particularly for vulnerable groups. With no rain in sight and clear skies persisting, local officials urge residents to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous work during peak heat hours, and check on neighbors.

Although dry, sunny summers are typical in Eugene, this early July heat streak is running hotter than average. The hottest day in the period is expected Friday, when the high may hit 93°F.

More heat is expected to persist through late next week. No precipitation is in the forecast at this time.
