Portland, Oregon – Light rain may dampen the Portland metro overnight into Thursday morning, with up to a 50% chance of showers expected by dawn. Temperatures will dip into the mid-50s before rebounding to the low 70s under clearing skies later in the day.

According to the National Weather Service in Portland, the chance of precipitation begins around 4 a.m. Thursday, with most of the activity expected to taper off by 11 a.m. Winds will remain light and variable, shifting from southwest to west throughout the day.

While roads should remain passable, early commuters may face slick spots on I-5, I-84, and Highway 26, especially in areas with overnight drizzle. No flooding is expected, but minor ponding could occur in poorly drained areas.

Friday marks a return to dry, sunny conditions with a high near 86°F—well above average for late May. Residents should prepare for a warm weekend, as temperatures climb into the low 80s by Saturday and Sunday.

The next chance for rain returns Monday, but until then, warm and dry weather dominates. More updates will follow if rain totals or timing shift significantly.
