Pendleton, Oregon – A burst of midweek rain could dampen plans across Umatilla County late Wednesday as scattered showers move into eastern Oregon. After a sunny start to the day, clouds will build through the evening with a 50% chance of showers beginning after 11 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, Pendleton may see lingering clouds and isolated showers early Thursday. The rain chance tapers off by midday, with skies gradually clearing as temperatures rise to a high near 67°F. Rainfall amounts should stay below a tenth of an inch, but wet roads on I-84 and OR-11 could slow down Thursday morning commutes.

Friday brings a warm-up with mostly sunny skies and a high of 72°F, setting the stage for a summer-like weekend. By Saturday, temperatures are expected to climb to 78°F under sunny skies. Sunday looks even warmer, with highs near 86°F—well above seasonal averages.

Memorial Day should hold up for outdoor plans, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 84°F. However, the National Weather Service notes a slight chance of showers Monday night into early Tuesday.

Looking Ahead:

  • Thursday: Cloudy, early rain, high of 67°F
  • Friday: Mostly sunny, high near 72°F
  • Saturday: Clear and warmer, high around 78°F
  • Sunday: Summer heat, highs near 86°F
  • Memorial Day: Mostly sunny with a high of 84°F
