Pendleton, OR – The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Wind Advisory for much of eastern Oregon and south-central Washington from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. PDT Saturday, November 1.
Forecasters expect southwest winds from 20 to 30 mph, with gusts reaching 45 to 50 mph, especially across the Foothills of the Blue Mountains, Lower Columbia Basin, and Central Oregon Highlands.
The advisory includes key cities such as Pendleton, Walla Walla, Hermiston, The Dalles, Madras, Redmond, Bend, and Goldendale.
According to the NWS, strong crosswinds will make travel difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles along Interstate 84, U.S. 97, and Highway 395. Tree limbs could be blown down, and isolated power outages may occur in open or rural areas.
Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, including decorations, trash bins, and patio furniture, before winds increase through midday.
Winds are expected to peak during the afternoon and early evening before tapering off late tonight. Cooler, calmer weather is forecast to return Sunday.
