Oregon residents should prepare for a wet start to the weekend, with rain lingering through Saturday before sunnier conditions return. Showers are expected to impact major cities, including Portland, Eugene, and Medford, before a shift to drier, warmer weather early next week.

According to the National Weather Service, rain will continue overnight into Saturday morning, with a 40-60% chance of showers in most areas. Portland and Eugene will see highs in the mid-50s on Saturday, while Medford may reach the low 60s. Winds will remain light, though brief gusts are possible in some areas.

By Sunday, conditions will begin improving, with partly sunny skies and highs climbing into the low to mid-60s. Monday and Tuesday will bring even warmer temperatures, with Portland expected to reach 68°F, Eugene 70°F, and Medford a possible 73°F.

Drivers should be cautious on wet roads, particularly along I-5 and major highways connecting these cities. Rainfall amounts are expected to range from a quarter to half an inch, potentially reducing visibility and causing slick conditions.

Looking ahead, next week’s forecast shows a mix of sun and clouds, with a slight chance of showers returning Wednesday. However, temperatures will remain mild, signaling a true spring warm-up for Oregon.
