Medford, Oregon –Strong spring winds are kicking up in southern Oregon today as Medford braces for gusts up to 23 mph by Wednesday night, with warm sunshine and temperatures reaching 82°F before a cooler pattern sets in this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, winds will pick up this afternoon, blowing west-northwest between 6 to 11 mph before intensifying tonight. Gusts could peak at 23 mph across Jackson County, especially near open stretches of I-5 and rural highways. Drivers should use caution, particularly in high-profile vehicles.

Wednesday’s high will reach near 82°F under mostly sunny skies, with light wind conditions returning late at night. Thursday brings more sunshine and highs near 80°F before Friday pushes temperatures toward 88°F, the warmest of the week. By Saturday, another sunny day will keep things hot with highs around 84°F, but a pattern shift is expected to cool things down by Sunday.

Rain chances return late Sunday into Monday with highs dropping into the 60s. Wind is not expected to be a major factor this weekend, but Sunday and Monday could bring light showers and cloudy skies.
