Portland, OR – A Freeze Watch has been issued for the Upper Hood River Valley, including the cities of Odell and Parkdale, as temperatures are expected to dip into the low 30s this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, freezing temperatures ranging from 28°F to 32°F are likely from late Saturday night through Sunday morning. Areas near the Hood River Airport and Odell have about a 50% chance of reaching freezing temperatures, while Parkdale and Dee face a 90% chance of frost.

The cold snap may damage sensitive vegetation and outdoor plumbing. Those with crops or potted plants are urged to take precautions. The weather service advises covering plants with lightweight fabric or moving them indoors.

Residents are also warned of colder temperatures Friday night, which could set the stage for the even colder temperatures expected Saturday night.
