Medford, OR – Snowfall and strong winds are set to impact parts of Oregon Sunday night into early Tuesday. Areas in the higher Cascades and central Siskiyou County are expected to see significant snow accumulation.

According to the National Weather Service in Medford, snowfall could reach up to one foot in most mountain regions, with a small chance of 2 feet near Crater Lake and Diamond Lake. Winds will add to the challenges, creating hazardous travel conditions.

Snow will primarily affect elevations above 3,000 feet, beginning Sunday at 10 p.m. and lasting until 4 a.m. Tuesday. Drivers should prepare for winter conditions, including carrying chains and allowing extra time for travel.

Officials urge caution, especially for those planning trips across the Cascades or visiting the Crater Lake area. Roads are likely to become snow-covered and slippery, with gusty winds reducing visibility.

Travelers should stay updated on weather forecasts and road conditions through official sources.
