Tulsa, OK – Strong winds and dry conditions continue to raise fire danger concerns across eastern Oklahoma this weekend, with gusts up to 45 mph expected through Monday. The National Weather Service warns that breezy conditions will persist into St. Patrick’s Day, creating potential hazards for outdoor activities and travel.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, winds will gradually shift from the southwest to northwest overnight, weakening slightly but remaining gusty. Northeast Oklahoma faces the highest risk for wildfires, with very low humidity and persistent winds creating dangerous conditions.

Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high of 63°F, followed by gradual clearing Saturday night with lows dipping to 36°F. Sunday will bring warmer temperatures, reaching 62°F, but winds from the north at 5 mph will keep conditions dry.

Monday, St. Patrick’s Day, is expected to be breezy and warmer, with highs near 77°F. Wind speeds will increase to 25 mph by the afternoon, with gusts reaching 35 mph. These conditions will elevate the fire threat across eastern Oklahoma.

Looking ahead, Tuesday will be partly sunny with a high of 79°F, while Wednesday sees a slight cool-down with highs near 61°F. Winds will remain strong throughout the week, sustaining fire weather concerns.

Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning and secure loose objects as gusty conditions persist. For updates, visit weather.gov/tulsa.
