Norman, OK – A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for multiple counties in southern and southeastern Oklahoma, with hazardous travel conditions expected overnight into Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Norman and Tulsa, dense fog will develop across the region starting at 3 a.m. CST Tuesday, reducing visibility to less than a quarter-mile in some areas. The advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. CST.

Affected counties include Atoka, Bryan, Coal, Johnston, Marshall, Carter, Love, and Murray under the NWS Norman advisory, as well as Choctaw and Pushmataha under the NWS Tulsa advisory. Cities such as Durant, Ardmore, Tishomingo, Hugo, and Antlers are expected to experience dangerous fog conditions.

Drivers should exercise caution as visibility may fluctuate rapidly, creating hazardous road conditions. The NWS advises motorists to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and maintain a safe following distance.

This advisory comes as Oklahoma experiences fluctuating late-winter weather, with fog developing due to high humidity and light winds. Travelers should plan for extra commute time and check local traffic updates before heading out.
