Residents are urged to avoid activities that could spark fires, including disposing of cigarettes improperly or using welding equipment near dry grass. The fire risk is classified as “Critical” for parts of the region, with the most vulnerable areas stretching east of Interstate 35. Outdoor burning is highly discouraged today.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will peak near 49°F today under sunny skies. Winds will remain steady at 15 mph with stronger gusts possible during the afternoon. Tonight will bring clear skies and cooler conditions with a low around 32°F.
Looking ahead, Saturday promises partly sunny skies and slightly warmer conditions, with highs reaching 52°F. Breezy weather will continue, but no hazardous weather is expected over the weekend. Sunday night into Monday may see an increase in mild temperatures, with highs climbing to 57°F by Tuesday.
