Tulsa, Oklahoma – Tornado warnings and damaging winds are threatening parts of northeastern Oklahoma early Friday as severe storms sweep through the region ahead of sunrise.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, warnings remain in effect through 6 a.m. across counties including Pawnee, Osage, Tulsa, and Washington. The line of storms, moving east at 35 mph, is bringing wind gusts up to 80 mph, hail the size of half-dollars, and the potential for isolated tornadoes.

The most immediate concern is across Pawnee and Osage counties, where active tornado warnings were issued just after 3 a.m. Emergency officials urge residents to have multiple ways to receive alerts and be ready to seek shelter immediately. Rural areas west of Tulsa could see the most intense activity before it shifts east toward cities like Broken Arrow, Bartlesville, and Muskogee by dawn.

Travel may be hazardous on highways including I-44, US-412, and US-75 due to strong winds and reduced visibility. Power outages and tree damage are possible as the storms continue.

Severe weather remains likely through early morning. Additional warnings could be issued with little notice. Stay indoors and monitor updates from the National Weather Service.
