Tulsa, OK – A cold front sweeping across eastern Oklahoma today will bring gusty winds and falling temperatures, affecting residents and travelers along I-44 and surrounding areas. Temperatures ahead of the front will reach the upper 60s and lower 70s, but they are expected to drop sharply into the 50s by late afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, gusty north winds of 20-30 mph will follow the frontal passage. Light rain or drizzle is also possible, primarily along and just behind the front. The best chances for precipitation will occur in far northeastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Travelers are encouraged to exercise caution due to reduced visibility and slick roadways in some areas.

Looking ahead, Thanksgiving Day in Tulsa is forecast to be sunny but chilly, with highs around 45°F. Winds will remain light from the north, providing calm but cool conditions for holiday festivities. Friday and Saturday will feature mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-40s to mid-50s, though nighttime lows will dip into the upper 20s.

Travelers planning to hit the road this holiday weekend should prepare for changing temperatures and potential wind gusts. Stay updated with the latest forecasts and drive carefully, especially on bridges and overpasses, which may become slick during drizzle.
