Oklahoma – Dust kicks up along open roads and flags snap sharply in the wind this morning as a fast warm-up grips central Oklahoma.

According to the National Weather Service, Oklahoma City climbs to 82°F today with southwest winds gusting as high as 38 mph, creating elevated fire danger and difficult travel for high-profile vehicles.

That wind-driven heat builds quickly.

By Monday, highs surge to 87°F with gusts still pushing near 37 mph. Air feels dry and warm, more like early summer than late March. Avoid outdoor burning and secure loose items now.

Storm chances begin to creep in soon after.

By Tuesday afternoon, scattered showers develop, especially after 1 p.m. A few thunderstorms follow later in the day as highs stay near 85°F. Conditions may shift quickly, so stay alert if you’re traveling.

Rain becomes more widespread Tuesday night.

Showers and storms increase to around a 60% chance, continuing into early Wednesday. Wet roads and reduced visibility could impact commutes across I-35, I-40, and surrounding metro routes.

Midweek turns cooler but remains active.

Wednesday brings another round of thunderstorms with highs dropping to near 68°F. Lightning and brief downpours are possible through the evening hours. Keep devices charged and plan indoor alternatives.

By Thursday, scattered showers linger with highs near 71°F, extending the unsettled stretch into early April.

Five Day Outlook for Oklahoma City, OK:
Today: Sunny and windy, high near 82°F
Monday: Sunny, high near 87°F
Tuesday: Chance of storms, high near 85°F
Wednesday: Thunderstorms likely, high near 68°F
