Oklahoma, Arkansas Face Scorching 100°F Temps, Storms Early Next Week

Tulsa, OK – An excessive heat warning has been issued for parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas, with temperatures expected to reach 100°F today. Cooler temperatures are forecasted for the weekend, but severe storms are anticipated early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, the heat warning will be in effect from noon to 9 PM, with heat indices reaching up to 112°F. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours. A heat advisory will also be in place for surrounding areas, where heat indices could rise to 108°F.

The forecast predicts a sunny weekend with highs of 87°F on Friday and 92°F on Saturday. Sunday will see a slight increase to 94°F with partly cloudy skies. However, the focus shifts to early next week as storms are expected to bring rain and cooler temperatures.

Storms are likely to develop on Monday, with a 50% chance of rain and temperatures dropping to 84°F. The unsettled weather is expected to continue into Tuesday, with a high of 87°F and continued storm activity. Residents should prepare for potential severe weather, including heavy rainfall and strong winds.
