According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the Winter Weather Advisory will remain in effect until 4 a.m. Friday. Officials urge motorists to reduce speeds, allow extra travel time, and avoid unnecessary trips.
Temperatures will remain cold, with a high near 31°F today and overnight lows dropping to 26°F. Friday will bring partly sunny skies with a slight warm-up to 36°F, though conditions will still be breezy.
Looking ahead, Saturday presents a mixed forecast of rain and snow as temperatures rise to 38°F during the day. Arctic air will return Sunday, with highs near 23°F and potential snow showers in the afternoon. By Sunday night, lows are expected to plummet to 4°F as wind chills dip below zero.
Residents should prepare for an extended period of frigid weather starting Monday, with wind chills as low as -15°F anticipated. Stay updated on weather conditions through the NWS or local alerts and avoid prolonged outdoor exposure.
